چکیده

Bladders were removed from IF x C57BL F[ hybrid mice that had been treated for 36 weeks with dibutylnitrosamine and implanted s.c. into similar hybrid mice to await the appearance of tumors. One of the tumors induced by this method has been serially transplanted for 42 generations. This has been designated FCB and is a rapidly growing transitional cell carcinoma with a stable morphology, as shown by light and electron microscopy. The tumor grows in a variety of sites and can be transplanted to either C57BL or IF mice. It will grow rapidly in vitro as a monolayer and re-forms solid tumor tissue upon reimplantation. The growth characteristics and morphology of the FCB tumor are described and discussed.

Estrogen receptor characterization in a transplantable mouse mammary tumor.

The estrogen receptor was characterized in a new transplantable mammary tumor line (MXT) which was induced by urethan treatment in C57BL x DBAf F, mice. The tumor is a ductal papillary carcinoma that is ovarian dependent. Treat ment of ovariectomized mice with estradiol benzoate results in rapid growth of the tumor. Cytoplasmic and nuclearbound estrogen receptors were measured by the charcoal a...

Establishment and characterization of immortalized non-transplantable mouse mammary cell lines cloned from a MMTV-induced tumor cell line cultured for a long duration.

During the culturing of a mouse mammary tumor cell line, MuMT73, maintained in vitro for more than a decade, we found morphological heterogeneity in its cells; some showed contact inhibition in their growth, some formed domes and some grew criss cross and piled up. In trying to clone the cell line to isolate cells showing contact inhibition or dome formation, we were able to establish six clona...

Induction of Morphological Changes of Cells by Cyclic SUMMARY A culture line of mouse glioblastoma cells changed morphologically to differentiated astrocyte-like cells when cultured in medium with dibutyryl cyclic adenosine mono phosphate and theophylline. Morphological alteration

also reported (35). Previously, we reported the establishment of a culture line of mouse glioblastoma cells with tumorigenicity in mice (30). These cells were obtained from a transplantable tumor in vivo derived in turn from a tumor induced in the brain of a C57BL mouse by methylcholanthrene (32). These tumor cells showed biochemical markers of glia cells, like C type aldolase, which is specifi...
